Please Note that, it is mandatory to submit the Softcopy of the Full Article and the Completed Application along with the recommendation of the Director/Faculty Research Centre, Head of the Department & Dean of the Faculty.
Senate Honours
Only the publications within One (01) year of the Date of Publication are considered for Senate Awards from 05th of March, 2021.
The Applications will be considered for Senate Honours according to the New Guidelines.
The Senate Awards for Research are a prestigious recognition bestowed upon the staff members of the University of Kelaniya for their scholarly contributions. These awards are granted monthly on Senate Day, emphasizing the university's commitment to ongoing academic excellence. The nomination process is self-initiated, with applications being accepted exclusively online, ensuring a streamlined and accessible procedure. Eligibility is reserved for permanent staff members, although temporary staff may receive Senate Honours, albeit without the monetary reward. A critical criterion for consideration is the publication of research in esteemed journals. These journals must be indexed in recognized databases such as the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, Arts and Humanities Citation Index, as well as highly-rated listings like the Association of Business Schools and the Australian Business Deans Council. Additionally, inclusion in SCOPUS, a comprehensive abstract and citation database, is also required. This rigorous selection process underscores the university's dedication to fostering and acknowledging high-caliber research that contributes to the global academic community.
Senate Honours - For Conference Presentation Published as a Full Paper
Only the publications within One (01) year of the Date of Publication are considered for Senate Awards from 08th of December, 2022.
The Applications will be considered for Senate Honours according to the New Guidelines.
Senate Honours and Cash Prices for Patent Holders
➡️ The Applications should be sent to the Chairman of the Research Council, through the Director of the Faculty Research Centre, through the Head of the Department & through the Dean of the Faculty by 03rd week of every month to be considered at immediate Research Council Meeting.
